OUTLET Charlotte Cowhide Rug

Bringing together the fantastic creative minds of both the lead designers at Mineheart and the postmodernist Portuguese artist Joao Figuieredo, this Charlotte Cowhide Rug is an entirely original creation. It is part of a much wider collection of Figuieredo cowhide rugs within the Mineheart collection and each piece is unconventional and a little surreal, as well as wonderfully stylish.

The Charlotte Cowhide Rug features one of Figuieredo’s immediately recognisable portraits. His work stands out because he takes a traditional portrait which has been dramatically changed, with elements removed to create conversation and provoke discussion. The Charlotte rug is a fusion between traditional and the height of modernity and it is created through the digital printing of the image onto a special rubber-backed fabric which is easy to clean and wash. The digitally printed fabric is hand cut into the cowhide shape to add a further interesting element and to keep it in the best condition it should be hand brushed and hoovered with care. It is a little different to your average rug but it adds something entirely unique to any space it graces.
